Actor Story

Mr. Appaji Ambarisha, a creative digital-media professional turned actor was born in
the quaint town of Samalkot in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh in 1965. His
illustrious parents Mr. Ramsha Darbha and Mrs. Siriesha Darbha were both amateur actors
and the pioneers of the well-noted and largely-circulated magazine, ‘Abhisarika’. Appaji
Ambarisha forayed into advertising and digital media at an early age, following his
professional passion and proclivity. He worked on many innovative technologies in printing
and publishing domain in a career spanning nearly three and a half decades. He has also
conceptualized various designs and Unicode fonts compatible with contemporary software,
especially in Telugu and Kannada for Google, and made his mark as a graphic designer par
excellence, working for distinguished advertising firms in the states of Andhra Pradesh,
Telangana and Karnataka. After a highly satisfying career in his chosen profession, he gave
in to his personal passion, acting, in 2011, as the protagonist’s father for a commercial of
‘Priya Foods-Snack Magic’.
His acting career, amply supported by his wife, Dr. Sudharani Miriyala, son DSV Ramsha
and daughter-in-law Krishna Manjusha, took a natural progression towards short films when
he debuted in the very popular ‘Apparao Gari Abbayi’ as the lead character Apparao. Till
date, he has made his appearance in well received films and also short films such as ‘Aa
Nishi Lo’ and ‘Apparao Gari Pichi’. His latest short film ‘Krishnamurthy Garintlo’ went on to
win many accolades and awards and has brought the fine actor in him the much deserved
appreciation from audiences and critics alike. He acted in O Saathiya (2023) also.
